「クレームの多いピアニストは誰だ」
と、くだらないこと思いついたが、あまりのくだらなさに二の句がつげない。
先日のソニー・スティットに続いてこちらも購入してしまいました。CD4枚でアルバム8枚分687円だよ。
音質もそれほど悪くはない。もともとあまりそのへんは気にしないタイプである。どうせiTunesに取り込んで、iPodをオーディオに繋げて聴くだけなんで。
モンクは苦手というかあまりきちんと聴いてこなかったよう思う。持っているのもせ「ブリリアント・コーナーズ」とかブルーノートの「GENUIUS OF MODERN MUSIC VOL1.2」とかのくらいか。
あの不協和音じゃなく、変則コードみたいなのも今一つのらない。もっともモンクなくしてセシル・テーラーなんか出てこなかったんだろうなとか思ったりもしないでもない。今回流して聴くと、やっぱりモダン・ジャズの巨匠の一人だなと、当たり前のことを思ったりもした。アート・ブレイキーとやっているのもいいし、特にソニー・ロリンズとのやつとかも。
まあ一日延々モンクを流すというのもなかなかオツだと思ったりもする。なかなか一日中、音楽聴いているというのは出来ないのだけど。
